Who we are

Galileo Scientific is a company specialized in professionally providing scientific instrumentation to laboratories with limited budgets. To achieve this, we sell new equipment at the best price-performance ratio on the market and acquire used laboratory equipment, which we subsequently inspect, recondition, and verify before making it available to our customers for sale or rental.

We have a wide selection of equipment such as centrifuges, HPLCs, incubators, thermal cyclers, and more, thanks to our access to hundreds of international companies and universities. Our headquarters are located in Spain, at C/ Río Nalón, 5 - PI El Nogal, 28119 Algete (Madrid), and we currently have sales offices in Portugal and France.

Orders and payments

The equipment shown on our website cannot be purchased directly through a payment gateway. To ask any questions about a product or request a quote, please contact our sales team through any of the following methods: email ventas@galileo-scientific.com or call 91 929 15 86 (Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.).

Reservations. Galileo does not reserve equipment, but offers the option of acquiring a "right to purchase" by depositing 15% of the equipment price. This right grants priority purchase for 90 calendar days. If exercised, the amount is deducted from the final price. If not exercised, 50% of the deposit is returned. Terms of payment

Payment. Payment is made in advance by bank transfer, once the quote has been accepted and before shipment, unless expressly agreed between the parties. In the case of rentals, payment is made by direct debit in accordance with the terms established in the corresponding contract. Limited financing with deferred payment of up to 6 months is also available, also by direct debit and subject to prior evaluation.

Shipping and receiving of goods

Shipping Terms. Taxes, packaging, and shipping costs are not included in the prices shown. Shipping for domestic orders within the peninsula and continental Europe is by road. For other destinations, air/sea/road freight is used. Delivery is at curbside, and the customer is responsible for internal transport. Large equipment is shipped with damage insurance included.

We take special care to ensure secure and adequate packaging for each type of equipment. We use wooden or reinforced cardboard crates, expandable foam bags, or protective wooden crates for larger equipment. This is especially important in rental cases, where the original packaging must be kept in good condition to ensure the safe return of the equipment at the end of the contracted period.

In addition, Galileo provides each customer with a photo and video report of the equipment, as well as a complete pre-shipment technical inspection to corroborate and document the condition of the equipment before departure. Right to storage. Once the invoice amount has been paid, the customer has 15 calendar days of free storage. After that, a monthly charge of €5 per box and €10 per pallet will be applied.

Receipt of goods. It is the buyer's responsibility to visually inspect the shipment immediately upon receipt and compare it with the condition recorded in the photographic report provided by Galileo, in order to detect any possible damage during transport. If the package shows visible damage upon receipt, photos must be taken, indicated on the carrier's waybill, and the incident must be reported within a maximum of 24 hours, attaching images and a copy of the delivery note. Late claims will not be accepted.

Product Warranty

Reconditioned Equipment. All our reconditioned equipment has been inspected and serviced by our technical service and comes with a one-year repair warranty. During the first six months, this warranty covers labor, parts, shipping costs, and repairs. During the second six months, it covers labor only. If repair is not possible or the cost exceeds the retail value, the full amount will be refunded.

New Equipment. All new equipment comes with a three-year warranty in accordance with Royal Decree 1/2007. Coverage is activated from the invoice date and includes the terms established by the manufacturer.

Rentals.In the case of rented equipment, Galileo guarantees its proper operation for the entire duration of the contract, provided it is used under normal conditions of use and maintenance. Any technical incident must be reported immediately. In the event of a failure not attributable to the customer, Galileo undertakes to repair or replace the equipment at no additional cost. Damage resulting from negligent use or unauthorized alterations to the equipment is not covered. The customer must retain the original packaging throughout the rental period, as it is essential for proper return.

Repairs. Repairs to equipment not sold by Galileo or performed outside the warranty period are covered by a three-month limited warranty. This warranty covers only the repair performed and does not include any other possible breakdowns other than the one performed.

General Exclusions: Damage caused by misuse, unauthorized manipulation, user error, and products sold at auction are excluded from the warranty. Furthermore, any technical modification requested by the customer that alters the original characteristics of the equipment voids the standard warranty and is replaced by a three-month limited warranty, similar to that offered for external repairs not affiliated with Galileo.

Returns and Cancellation: The customer may withdraw from their purchase within 14 calendar days of receipt. Products must be returned in the same condition as they were received. New products must be unused, and second-hand products must be free of additional damage.

Returns are not accepted for:

  • Perishable products or products with an expiration date.
  • Customized items or items manufactured according to customer specifications.
  • Services already provided and accepted.
  • Digital content without physical support, if its immediate execution was consented.

Return packaging is the customer's responsibility, while Galileo assumes insurance and pickup costs. Cancellations after packaging/shipping have begun incur a 10% charge and 100% of the shipping and handling costs.

For unaccepted external repairs, one hour of technical diagnosis and associated costs will be charged.
